This metaphor means that at the begging Romeo and Juliet love is nice and sweet. But when it gets a bigger relationship they would start to hate each other and not to love each other anymore. Like when you have to much honey and you start to turn ill.

This is well explained. Who said this in the play, and what was their warning in general? (i.e. can you put this quote into context?)

In the play Friar Lawrence said this to both Romeo and Juliet. When friar Lawrence said this he was warning them that it is to early and it couldn’t be the right thing to do.and if the two families don’t forgive each other there will be death.
